1.Kufri Distt Shimla

You can explore hands-on skiing on the slope of the famous Mhasu peak and embrace nature’s beauty. Or you can hike in Chail, the smell of pine and oak trees will add to your experience. You can hire a bus or can to Kufri which is located approximately 20 km from Shimla.

2. Seraj Valley Janjehli Distt Mandi

For a Serene Hilly Retreat, Head to Janjehli one of the Best places to travel in Himachal.

One of the most unexplored places in Himachal Pradesh, Janjehli is where you can indulge in the beauty and bounty of nature, minus the crowds of nearby hill stations of Shimla and Kullu.

4. Parashar Lake Distt Mandi

The lake looks breathtaking all throughout the year, especially during the winter. This lake is a hidden gem of Himachal Pradesh which is not much explored by the tourists and you can exclusively explore the place. You can grab some local delicacies or simply sip the special hot drinks offered here. You can take a bus to Manali and get down to Mandi and take a private Taxi to Parashar lake.

5. Dalhousie Distt Chamba

One of the most famous hill stations in Himachal Pradesh, Dalhousie is often referred to as the Switzerland of India because of its snowy slopes and lush green meadows and pine forests, and its colonial-era charm.

You can sit down and relax and visit all the sights in Dalhousie, like St. John Church or Daikund Lake, or go river rafting or crossing, visit Kalatop wildlife sanctuary or ride to Khajjiar.

6. Green Landscape of Manali Distt Kullu

Next up is another popular destination, and probably the most famous one in the state. Manali and the wider Kullu region is full of natural and heritage sites to explore. From Manali, you have several places to head to in Manali and nearby Solang Valley for paragliding, skiing or trekking.

7. Shimla the Hill Queen

Speaking of unwinding in the winter, there’s no better place than Shimla. Also, known as the queen of hills. It is a mainstream tourist treat, but you’ll find fewer people here than during the summer holiday season.

Take the opportunity to walk down the snow-ridden streets and experience Shimla’s colonial buildings and churches in all their winter glory. Soak in the weather at the Ridge and take the chilly but beautiful ride through Kalka. Plus, Kufri’s slopes are nearby for some skiing fun.

8. Key Monastery, Spiti Valley

One of the most awesome and breathtaking experiences in Himachal Pradesh has to be Spiti Valley. You can explore river rafting in cold weather that will add to your adventure. Or you can simply embrace the peace by visiting the Buddhist monasteries.

You can either reach the destination by roadways or railways. By roadways, once you reach Chandigarh you can head to Spiti Valley via Shimla. By train, you can reach the Shimla railway station and continue with a cab journey.

If it is an adventure that you seek, head to the rugged roads of Spiti Valley, surrounded by several inches of snow. There is a danger, but a road trip to the mountainous valley is something that you will never forget.

The feeling of being in frigid temperatures and the sight of monasteries and pristine snow will be seared into your memory. Ride or trek on the Kunzum range, visit the Key and Toba and Dhankar monasteries and sit by the Chandratal Lake.

9. Narkanda Ski Slopes

Located 2,700 meters above sea level, the town of Narkanda is surrounded by mountains and dense woodlands, far from the intrusions of everyday life. It lies off the famed Hindustan-Tibet road and is a favorite among skiers for its snowy slopes during the winter.

10. Mcleodganj Dharamsala

Finally, we have Mcleodganj and, by extension, Dharamsala in the upper regions of Kangra Valley. Winter sees pleasant snowfall in the city, and you can still go paragliding until the winter snow sets in. Plus, there are plenty of trekking trails here, including the popular Triund route.

For those interested in the city’s Tibetan culture, there is the Tibetan museum and Kalachakra temple and Tsechokling Gompa to visit.
