Budhakedar shrine -Where Pandavas also took the holy bath

Budhakedar shrine located in the Janjaihali valley of the Seraj region of Himachal Pradesh.

At Budhakedar shrine, people used to take bath on Nirjala Ekadashi of Hindu Jyeshtha Month calendar date 29 and 30th. Even God and Goddess come to Budhakedar and baths and makes themselves holy.

To reach the Budhakedar, you have to reach the Janjehli valley of the Seraj region. You can take two roads from the Mandi to reach Janjehli.

1) Mandi -> Pandoh -> Kanda-> Thunag -> Janjehli

Distance – 97KM

2) Mandi -> Group -> Nerchok -> chailchowk-> Kanda-> Thunag -> Janjehli

Distance – 114KM

Valley of  Budhakedar shrine

Janjehli to Katru and Ktaru to Budhakedar. Ktaru is about 2 km away from Janjehli. From Katra, you have to walk on foot to the Budhakedar, which can be approximately 4 or 5 km away from Ktaru.

From Ktaru to Budhakedar, there is direct climb. Due to the snowy area, you can go from April to October only. From November to March, there is a heavy slow fall here.

Budhakedar

From April to October, a lot of people used to bath here. Separate baths have been made for men and women. Buddha Kedar, situated in the Aanchal of Mata Shikari Devi Yogini Shaktipeeth. Lord Shiva is situated here in the cave in the form of Shivling.

The cave is not too high, then you have to lean slightly. The devotees of Shiva and Kali are able to achieve their fidelity easily by practicing meditation.

Accreditation Of Budhakedar

Myth is that when there was a war between Pandavas and Kauravas, then Pandavas were accused of killing many close relatives. For the purpose of removing the faults, Lord Krishna said to Yudhishtar, worship God NANDI duly, by doing so, you can be free from the blame of murder. Due to this purpose, the Pandavas were able to find a place called Budhakedar.

So whenever Shiva Bhagwan saw the Pandavas, they were vanquished from their caste, and Nandi was also under his subtle form and being underground from his caste, Bhima caught Nandi from his request and duly worshiped him. With the request of Nandi, in Budhakedar their isis about 18 feet hole, from which the accumulated water still smells like cow urine. And it is believed that after getting underground from here, there was a trunk of Nandi at Pashupatinath temple. After this, the Pandavas had been able to get rid of the blame by taking bath here.

Holy Budhakedar shrine

It is necessary to bath here after the four Dham:-

Who visit four Dhams by the end, for them must take bath here, otherwise their travel is not considered to be as complete. Before going to the Shikari Mata’s temple, people get holy here after bathing and then see the Mata. With this holy bath, Shikari Mata gets very happy with her devotees.

Even today, when someone dies at someone’s house then people get holy after bathing there then attend any festival. Then they go for some auspicious work.
