Kufri is your perfect, idyllic hill station nestled cozily in the lap of Himalayas, perched atop 2743 meters from the sea-level. Hill Station Kufri is 20 kilometers away from Shimla. The name Kufri derived from Kufr which means lake in the local language. Here is when you can visit this place.

Kufri enjoys amazing temperate climate throughout the year. The most preferred season to visit this heaven is in summers from April to June. Because the temperature is pleasantly cool and does not drop below 19’C.

The next best season to visit this hill station is during monsoon as the destination receives scanty rainfall. And then the temperature drops till 10’C. Travellers who do not mind the cold can visit Kufri in this season as they may get some awesome value-for-money deals on travel and other activities.

Hill Station Kufri

Visiting Kufri in winters is out of the question as the temperature drops 0’C in this season. The period between March and November is most preferred. But for ski lovers its paradise in winters.

So now is the time you book your tickets to Kufri before the rains set in. While you are here, do not forget to try some horse riding to get your adrenaline pumping!

Skiing at Hill Station Kufri

Popular for its trekking and hiking paths, Himachal Pradesh has got offer something to everyone. Kufri in winter is nothing but reek of wonderland that you may definitely want to explore.

You can explore hands-on skiing on the slope of the famous Mhasu peak and embrace nature’s beauty. Or you can hike in Chail, the smell of pine and oak trees will add to your experience. You can hire a bus or can to Kufri which is located approximately 20 km from Shimla.

At Hill Station Kufri you can also visit the zoo. Here you will see the preserved animal bodies that live in Himachal. Also, there are some rare live birds and animals who are habitats of the Himalayan region.

How to Reach Kufri from Delhi by Road

Kufri is a quaint little town in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Though there are several hill stations in the north of India, a new place to explore, discover and enjoy is always a delight. This is one of the reasons why Kufri has grown from a little village to another holiday destination only 20 km away from Shimla. the natural beauty, the picturesque scenery is a treat to the eyes and something that most travelers look forwards to.

A drive from Delhi is a trip that many people plan, despite not belonging to the National Capital.

A road trip from the capital of India will take somewhere around 7-9 hours depending on when you plan to take the trip and your mode of transport. One has to keep in mind that hiring a car or driving yourself is one of the more convenient options as you can halt wherever you desire to.

In case one opts to travel by bus, prior booking is always better. Make sure you insist on a seat by the window to enjoy the serenity and the variations nature offers. A direct bus from Delhi to Kufri is available on a daily basis, i.e. only one per day. However, one can take a bus from Delhi to Shimla (which has better frequency every day, at least one per hour) and then take a cab or a local bus to Kufri.
