Khajjiar The Mini Switzerland of India is a lush green ground with a beautiful small lake in the middle of it. And this beautiful place is surrounded by the deodar and pine trees.
Khajjiar lies in Kalatop Wildlife sanctuary. The sanctuary is situated between the thick pine, deodar and oak forests, covering an area of 30.69 square km.
Here one can spot wild animals and birds like the famous Himalayan Black bear, monkeys, pheasants, and Himalayan black marten, etc.
Besides the beauty of this underrated hill town, it attracts adventure seekers, adventure sports for paragliding, horse riding, zorbing, skiing, and trekking.

When to visit Hill Station Khajjiar
The best season to visit Khajjiar would be summer or spring, which is between March to September. During this period the roads will be normally clear and the greenery and beauty will be at its best.

By Air: The nearest airport to Khajjiar is Gaggal airport in Dharamsala at a distance of 122 km. Flights from Delhi and Chandigarh operate at Gaggal airport. Thereafter you can Hire a taxi or can take a bus to Khajjiar.
By Train: Pathankot is the nearest railhead at a distance of 118 km. Trains from Ahmedabad, Bhatinda, Delhi, Hatia, Jammu, Udhampur, etc. run regularly to Pathankot. Taxis are available from Pathankot to reach Khajjiar.
By Road: Khajjiar is well connected by road to all the major places in Himachal Pradesh. State-owned buses from Shimla, Chamba, and Dalhousie ply regularly to Khajjiar.
