Legend of Srikhand Mahadev: –
The story of Shrikhand is very interesting, only then everyone want to go here. It is said that the Bhasmasur monks here demanded austerity and a boon from Lord Shiva, that on whose head he would keep his hand, he would be consumed. But due to the inferior spirit, he was determined to marry mother Parvati.
Therefore, Bhasampur planned to consume him by laying his hands on Shiva, Bhasmasur fell behind Lord Shiva. Forced Bholanath had to hide in these mountain caves. Parvati was shocked at the fear of the monster.
It is said that NayanSarvar was constructed with her tears here. People do not forget to go to this lake during Shrakhhand Yatra. One of its torrents falls down to 25 km below Lord Shiva’s cave, Goddess Narand of Dharmand.
But Lord Vishnu knew his intentions. And Lord Vishnu took the form of Mohini and persuaded Bhasmasur to dance with him. During the dance, Bhasmasur put his hand on his head and was consumed. Even today, the soil and water of it appear red from the distance.
About 32 kilometers long, the mountains come with snow and herbs. Beautiful and charming cool air moves smoothly. Devotees worshiping Shiva are proceeding on the narrow path. This time, the devotees will be able to visit the same devotees who will fit in the medical.
