The holy shrine of Shikari Mata, with an altitude of 3359 meters (11020 ft), its the highest peak of Seraj-Janjehli valley. We can reach here by road or through Trekking Routes of Shikari Mata Temple from many sides.

By Road it is connected from two sides,

1) From Mandi – Thunag – Janjehli – Raigarh- Shikari. And

2) from Karsog – Shanker Dehra – Raigarh – Shikari.

Raigarh to Shikari is 6 KM and then about 500 stairs to Shikari Mata Temple.

Trekking Routes of Shikari Mata

Shikari Mata Temple is a favorite trekking destination for trekking lovers. The most common Trekking Routes of Shikari Mata Temple are listed here below.

Kataru- Rohara-Budhakedar-Jamathach-Daklehr-Shikari (10 KMs) most common Trekking Routes of Shikari Mata

The most used and loved trekking route starts from Kataru Village, 3 KM from Janjehli. From Kataru about 5KM trek through Rohara village to Holy pilgrimage Budhakedar, So far the track goes through the narrow valley, and then from Budha Kedar, the trek is climbing upwards to the peak Shikari Mata through Jamathach and Daklehr points. Starting point Kataru is about 90 KM from Mandi.

Trekking Routes of Shikari Mata

Thunag – Deji-Chimlagad-Rohandi-Kathadari-Shilibhuj-Shikari (9 KMs)

These routes start from Deji (Lamb-shafar) 5Km from Thung. From Deji Beautiful views ahead up to Shikari Mata Temple. From Rohandi there is also a way to Budha Kedar and can join the first trek to Shikari Mata.

Otherwise, Rohandi-Kathadari-Shilibhuj-Shikari routes have very beautiful places all around. Starting point Deji is about 65 KM from Mandi.

Deji (Thunag) – Jaraid-Deolanal-Chakha-Shikari (12 KMs).

Same as trek (2) but from other side of the hill. Also a very beautiful trek.

Devidarh-Shikari (8 KMs)

Shortest trek and most beautiful view. This trek starts from another side of Shikari Mata peak. It starts from Devidarh(a beautiful picnic spot), which is about 25 Km from Chailchowk and 55 KM from Mandi

Rohanda-Kamrunag-Kathbai ki Dhar-Shikari (22 KMs)

Longest trek, It starts from Rohanda which is 55 KM on Mandi Karsog Road. This trek goes through the shrine of the most powerful God of Mandi District, Bada Dev Kamrunag. Here is the holy Lake that has connection with Bhim and Mahabharat.

To do trekking in this area, trekkers should go with proper preparations like trekking shoes,  clothing, food and eatables, water and other necessary equipments required for trekking. Recommended to hire a local trekking guide who is familiar with Trekking Routes of Shikari Mata Temple.
